Spring 2009 Newsletter

Danny House ArchievesSummer has seen us welcome two new couples to the house, who have had the benefit of some really good weather in which to settle in. The comprehensive conversion of No.23 was a project managed by the incoming residents, enabling them to tailor the apartment to their particular wishes.

Outside, some four hundred lambs have been born to our flock, and Ruby, our golden Labrador, produced a litter of seven pups, one golden, to be known as Amber, and six black. For the third year, we had a picnic on Wolstonbury Hill, complete with marquee, linen table-cloths and silver candelabra.

There have been several concerts in aid of various charities, the most outstanding of which were probably those of the young Greek pianist George-Emmanuel Lazaridis, and the return visit of the Cambridge Scholars, whose performance raised over £500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The largest function we shall be hosting this year is a mediaeval fair in Danny Park on 20 September, with 10 jousting horses, 200 foot-soldiers and a trebuchet.

Friends of Danny will be welcome at any of the events listed overleaf. You might even consider spending a night with us to experience a bit of life at Danny, but it would be wise to book as far ahead as possible.
