LIFESTYLE at DANNY HOUSE
To
live at Danny means being able to forget
about the everyday worries of running a
house, as this is done for you. The
kitchen is in the hands of two
well-qualified cooks, and excellent
breakfast, lunch and supper are provided
every day.
In
summer, there are large gardens at your
disposal. If you are a keen gardener,
there is plenty of scope for you to go on
exercising your skills, in the Walled
Garden tending a vegetable plot. If you
prefer just to take it easy out of doors,
there is plenty of shade. There is also a
croquet-lawn, grass tennis court, ponds
for fishing and farm animals bill roads
and table tennis.
The
estate lies off the road from
Hurstpierpoint to Hassocks, which villages
between them have a wide selection of
shops. If you have no car, the minibus can
take you shopping or to nearby medical
centres.
There
are both large and small apartments, and
your monthly charge will therefore depend
upon how much space you need. All
apartments have a modern en-suite bathroom
and some with well equipped cupboards,
television aerial-points, and internal and
external telephones, broadband and Sky TV.
There is also a utility-space, with a
sink, and a refrigerator, where you may
prepare simple snacks. Some apartments
have their own kitchens.
Council-tax
is included in your monthly rental, as are
heating, lighting and water, the use of
the library and of the laundry-room, and,
indeed, access to all parts of the estate.
There is parking for your car.
FULL
MAINTENANCE WITH NO EXTRA
CHARGES
There
is full maintenance with no additional
service-charges. The Great Hall is
sometimes made available to charities for
concerts and lectures. Residents have
their own in-house films.
You
are, of course, free to furnish your
apartment with all your own
belongings.
There
are guest-rooms for the use of residents'
friends and relations. A charge is made
for this, and for any extra meals, which
appears on your monthly account.
What
next? The first thing is probably to come
and have a look around. There are no other
formalities, except that we do need to
know that you are capable of looking after
yourself, as there are no facilities for
providing nursing care. When an apartment
becomes free, you will then be asked for a
deposit of six months' rental.
Living
at Danny means sharing the life of a
community of like-minded people; being
able to pursue those hobbies for which
there was never time when you were
working; and the knowledge that you do not
have to worry about any problems of
maintenance of either house or grounds. It
all adds up to a carefree
retirement.
RENT
RATHER THAN BUY YOUR APARTMENT
Unlike
most retirement communities at Danny you
have the advantage of being able to rent
rather than buy your apartment. This frees
up your equity and relieves you of the
burden and inflexibility of ownership. We
provide the personal touch of a social
administrator who provides postcard care,
helps receive deliveries, co-ordinates the
arrival of your visitors and guests,
arranges transport and shopping, organises
cultural trips and takes messages while
you are away.
A
NEW CHAPTER IN YOUR LIFE
Danny
is one of England's great country houses.
Nestling at the foot of the South Downs in
an area of outstanding natural beauty,
Danny offers the best of all worlds - the
charm of gracious living combined with all
modern comforts, but without the stress of
everyday life. It offers a truly special
retirement experience.
